Kenya Conservation Safari

Days 1: Nairobi:

On arrival at Nairobi airport, you will be met and briefed on your safari before being transferred to your hotel.

Days 2: Samburu:

On this morning of your Amboseli and Masai Mara Safari, you will be driven to Wilson Airport to board a scheduled flight to Samburu. At the airstrip, a guide will be there to meet you and transfer you to your lodge, enjoying a game drive en route. After lunch, there will be some time to settle in and head out on an afternoon game drive.

Days 3:  Samburu:

Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing in both Samburu and Buffalo Springs game reserves. Leopards are often seen at dusk. The Samburu culture is a truly fascinating one, sharing a great deal of ancestral and linguistic ties to the Maasai. The entire Samburu region is a place of breathtaking and magical beauty, a place where the vision of a deep red sunset silhouetting the doum palms along the river as a leopard emerges to hunt brings the perfect end to a day on safari…… For the more adventurous take a camel ride; or take a 5-hour walk along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River and fly camp in the wilderness, sleeping under the African stars.

Days 4:  Mara:

This morning, after breakfast, we drive across the plains in search of the Big Five and other plains game. Early mornings are one of the best times to see the animals because they are most active before the heat of the day sets in, and after a mid-morning of relaxation and lunch, head out into the reserve to tick off some more animals on your “must-see” list. Keep your eyes peeled as you search for the final members of your list.

Days 5-6:  Mara:

The next two days of your safari will be spent game viewing in the Mara, home of the Great Migration, which sees 2 million wildebeest and zebra migrate in search of fresh grazing and water.

The Masai Mara is also Big Cat territory, with frequent sightings of predators such as lions. Explore the African plains on guided walks led by a knowledgeable Masai guide who will tell you about the drama of survival on the African plains.

Days 7:  Departure:

There will be time before breakfast on the final day of your Kenya Masai Mara Safari for one last game drive and photos. The guide will then drive you back to the airstrip where you will catch a flight back to Wilson Airport.

Then you will be driven to Nairobi Airport for your onward flight arrangements, or you will speak with one of our Destination Specialists about arranging accommodation in Nairobi or along the Kenyan coast.
