Experience Tsavo National Park, Kenya

Tsavo National Park comprises of the joint mass of Tsavo West and East. It is one of the largest Parks in the world and covers a massive 4% of Kenya’s total land area. Tsavo West, the most famous of the two, lies to the west of the Nairobi-Mombasa road, equidistant between Nairobi and Mombasa, and is painted on a sprawling canvas of endless skies, emerald hills, liquid lava flows, palm-fringed rivers, teeming wildlife and sparkling oases set against unforgettable backdrop of mile upon mile of cloud-shadowed African savannah.

Tsavo East National Park on the other hand is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features of Tsavo East include the world’s longest lava flow: Yatta Plateau and Lugard Falls.  Over 10,000 red elephants; which are the biggest than any other in the world, have been recorded within the general Tsavo Conservation Area. The park is also known for birdlife and its large mammals that include: Black Rhino, Cape buffalo, Leopard, Hippo and Lion.  There are also other smaller animals that can be spotted in the park, such as the Bush baby, Hartebeest, Lesser kudu and Maasai giraffe.
