Amboseli National Park is the second most popular destination after the Masai Mara in Kenya and it lies immediately north-west of Mount Kilimanjaro, on the border with Tanzania. The Park covers 392 square km, and forms part of the much larger 3,000 square km Amboseli ecosystem that has a mixed topography of plains, acacia woodland, rock thorn bush, swamps and marshes. It is famous for its large concentration of elephant and the view of Mt.Kilimanjaro which is the tallest Mountain in Africa and the biggest majestic standing mountain in the world best viewed from Amboseli. Other wildlife that can be experienced at Amboseli especially during the long dry season include; African Buffalo, Impala, Cheetah, Maasai Giraffe, Hyenas, Lions, Fringe Oryx, Wildebeest among other African animals. There are also over 400 species of birds at Amboseli.
